wordlessly she collects her effects she calls in her marks she draws back the nets she harvests every last bitter regret all their days misspent she hauls in her catch with some dark left to burn unsurprised that they never learn a secret swims behind her eyes perhaps a word for the wise wearily rise the dispossessed they bluster forth they coalesce they manifest their insanity the bleak disease they gust through the night stirring up debris they curse out the stars for their misery consumed by their infinite agony aching for a reprieve silently a finger drawn to her lips she stares them down they acquiesce they've long since surrendered their liberty their legacy another eve and it begins a desperate dance without an end rather than laying blame at her feet they accept their defeat they curse out your name they curse their disease don't take it too hard darling Persephone if there lies a fault you're not the one to blame they've squandered their time it's theirs to carry that weight

it belittles you to belittle me your indecision won't set you free your need to hold on is pure insanity and you’re bringing it down on me there’s a hunger in your soul and i know you know there's an aching to be whole and i know you know there's a weakness you can't control now why can't you let go? it poisons you to poison me have you lost all sight of what you really see? you're screaming words better left unsaid and you're taking it out on me it hinders you to hinder me you've lost all touch with reality you've lost all sight of what you used to believe and you're bringing it down on me

blindly we betray all our yesterdays it's all emotional residue that we struggle through solemnly we hold the space for eternity we surrender to the guilt a sentimental casualty and through our words we falter responsibility nothing ever changes a sentimental casualty languish in the void 3 below the noise are they just a memory for you to suffer through? and if the dead could speak do you think they would agree? with the way you’ve used their loss to soldier through solemnly we hold the space for eternity we surrender to the guilt a sentimental casualty and through our words we falter responsibility we forever toe the line a sentimental casualty
4.
we feel lonely and unfulfilled where's the happiness? the next gadget won't fill the void we're still empty inside this world is cruel and it makes us insane will nothing ever change? for every ill a distraction will play i just need something to change mission accomplished we've won the day now we pack and move on we have another crusade to fight eternal war to the end this world is bleak and it thrives on our pain will nothing ever change? for every resource a war can be waged i just need something to change the big man promised to make us rich to keep us safe from our fears just like the last man who stole our dreams no it can't happen again this world is cold and our loss is their gain will nothing ever change? for every crime a dissident can be blamed i just need something to change you never change your strategy in the middle of the stream we'll plug away we'll see it through we'll stay the course 'til the grave i just need something to change i just need something to change march in the grey parade will it ever change?

we recoil when we discover the monsters that walk among us the creatures that we thought we knew we have nothing in common they'd rather berate and they'd rather deny they'd rather frame to rig the game and there's no shame eyes that seem so alive and yet so unaware they look like you and me though they lack empathy they troll the ones they despise they live to share their despair at a loss to defend they are less than human we react when we uncover the players that conspire against us the social bonds we thought we had we have nothing to count on when the language fails then the egos dig in the dialog becomes insane and it's such a shame we recoil when we discover the murder that lurks inside us the creatures that we have become how do we reconcile? it's a mad mad world how do we navigate? it's a mad mad world is there no way out? is there no way?
6.
i see in them some things i see in me but there’s something else some form of manic disease a fear burns into them and darkens their eyes a poison thought that they’ve romanticized if words can cut so deep that they’re weaponized when ideas become enemies it’s fair to say we live in desperate times was it something they read? was it something they’re sold? baby, lock her up now baby, do what you’re told they cowered in fear but they found their resolve propaganda first their fragile assault if words can cut so deep that they’re weaponized when ideas become enemies we find ourselves in desperate times language as a virus russian provocateurs distortions are their vector and their infection endures if words can cut so deep that they’re weaponized when ideas become enemies you know we live in desperate times

about

Our eighth release, the initial idea for Constructive Interference was to put out an EP. The idea was to remix two songs from our previous album, The Bleak Disease, and pair them with two songs from our next album, Suffer in Silence. Shortly after, Brent from Probe 7 volunteered to remix "Change". During production, it occurred to us that the twentieth anniversary of the recording of "Let Go" was coming up in May (where did the time go?) and Eric from Interface offered to remix it. A couple of remixes later and we had a full-length album. If you've ever wished for a more dancefloor-friendly album from Fiction 8, this one's for you.
